Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

unauthorized cable connection

In Vail, Co. I was convicted of unauthorized cable connection in 1987. Currently persuing a career in law enforcement in Minnesota. Is this considered a theft conviction and is it possible to have this expunged or removed from my record? Any theft conviction is automatic disqualification for Mn P.O.S.T. licensing.

Re: unauthorized cable connection

It is most likely a theft charge.

Convictions cannot be expunged or sealed. But, a deferred sentence can be. You may have been given one of these. To find out for sure, call the Eagle County Court clerk at: this will not let me include a phone number so lets see if we can trick it. Area code is 970. Then next three numbers are 328. and the final numbers are 6373.

If it is not a conviction, but then you can seal it. Sealing does not prevent police from seeing it, so this probably does not help you. But, if not a conviction, then likely that helps.
