is it unlawful possesion of a weapn if you are inside of your home and have been drinking?

you are never allowed to handle a gun when you have been drinking
you may have a 2nd amendment defense if you reasonably felt threatened, but likely that is the only time you are allowed to handle a gun after alcohol or drugs

Unless it is a POWPO charge, mere possession would be difficult to prove. How far away was the weapon? If the weapon was on your person, that is another matter.
