Re: warrant

I'm guessing you're a juvenile and the essay was ordered as a condition of a diversion program.

Write the damn essay tonight -- it doesn't have to be any good, just put words on paper (plagiarize Neil Kinnock if you have to; it didn't hurt Joe Biden a bit) -- and contact the court (through a third party if you're afraid) with the essay in hand. It's possible the essay will be accepted and the warrant quashed. If you are convicted of violating your diversion, and the misdemeanor, yes, it will likely show up on a background check.

"Court ordered essay" sounds like juvenile diversion. In some counties, this is done with a "deferred prosecution" not a "deferred sentence." This is a big point, in that it addresses whether you are exposed to jail. I need to know much more.
