Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

help

seven year ago i was given a deferred sentence on a vechicle edulding and domestic violence charge, i was told to do 36 week of class and pay a fine, seven years past and during that time i was in the army all across the world, anyways i just got out and found out that i have a warrant. what is the best way to take care of this? do i do the classes and pay the fine or do turn myself in and hope they dont give me jail. please help lost on what to do. alo i recently applied for a job and vechile edulding came back but they told me it was a deferred sentence how does this effect my record. never been arrested before or after this. this happen in colorado.

In what state was warrant issued? What state are you currently residing in? An outstanding bench warrant in the state you are in means that: if you go to court records, or chambers to "sign" for a hearing date, you will be arrested then and there. Or turn yourself in without an attorney. Either way you are going to jail. Get counsel. Get counsel who can get the warrant quashed. Start classes. Pay the fines. Then, and only then, go to court. Otherwise, you are going to jail. Good luck.

It seems that you need to speak to an attorney in Colorado. If you do not know of one, you may call my office and I will give you some choices. You could also give a call to the Colorado Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

One thing I am sure of is that you should not turn yourself in without an attorney. When jail is a real possiblility, a good lawyer can only help.
