A clean record (having no prior felonies or misdemeanors) is just ONE element in the argument for mitigation and a lesser sentence. Having a job, family duties, scholarly demands, young children to care for, a rehab program, community invlovement, education, therapy, treatment, etc, etc. These are ALL elements to be considered in sentencing. Sentences are very fact-specific, so I cannot tell you HOW likely you are to get a lower sentence. Write out a good argument. You may want to hire counsel to deliver that argument for you.
