On 12/25/2007, Christmas Day, I was arrested for suspected DUI after a former girlfiend called the police to report that I was driving under the influence, when the fact was, I was on my way to spend the day with my Children for Christmas. I was not drinking but had the night before. I was arrested in her apt. after stopping by, at her request, on my way to my childrens home. I cooperated with field sobriety tests as requested by the female officer at the scene while already in handcuffs as stated in the police report.(handcuffs not mentioned in the report) I was then taken to the Riley County Police Dept. in Manhattan, Ks where I was told that I needed to sign documents including my property return list which is the only document that I was made aware of as to what it was. I never once heard or understood any request to submit to any form of chemical test, be it blood, breath, etc. I was released to a friend, Troy Blankenship to whom I told, at the police dept., in front of the arresting officers, that I was never even asked for a breath test. Subsequently, 1 month later, I recieved a notice, from the State of Kansas, that my CDL, which I did not even have, was revoked for life, and that my regular driver's license was revoked for 3 yrs till Jan 24, 2011. I am a plumber and they will not even let me have a work permit thus making it impossible for me to work in the only trade that I know and have had to move to Denver, Colorado to stay with my daugher. I need some kind of assistance and have no financial means for such assistance. I currently work parttime for WalMart which doesn't even pay my basic bills, thus the need to stay with my daughter. By the way, the DUI charges were all subsequently dropped and there are no actions pending thereto.
