Legal Question in DUI Law in Colorado

This is a complex question involving several states. I got a DUI in Colorado and left the state before completing my terms of probation (classes and community service). I moved to Florida. 5 years later, I got a DUI in FL. They took my previous DUI into consideration in the sentencing. I am now on 3 years probation for that DUI.

I would like to clear up my Colorado VOP case and have completed classes and service. BUT, when I turn myself in to CO, will that arrest count as a violation of my FL probation? I assume I will be convicted of VOP which I assume would violate me?

Thank you.

You violation of probation in CO occurred when you failed to appear 5 years ago. Since when you go on probation, you promise not to commit crimes in the future, this should not cause you a FL problem.

There may be no open case in CO bc they often close cases after a few years, but maybe it is still open.

BTW - the fact that you have finished classes etc, may keep you from too much pain in CO. I think FL will do nothing.
