Does a DUI or DWAI transfer

Does a DUI or a DWAI transfer if i have a colorado license and got a DUI or DWAI in New York while visiting. If so what is the penalty in CO for this.

You may possibly lose your license. It would count as a prior offense, if you are convicted of a future alcohol offense here.

YES, if both CO and NY are "compact states." The compact is an agreement between most of the states in the US that they will each honor the suspension of the other. In other words, I suspect that you will be at least administratively revoked in NY under NY law. If that is the case and CO and NY are members of the compact, CO will suspend your driver�s license based upon the NY DUI.

YES, if both CO and NY are "compact states." The compact is an agreement between most of the states in the US that they will each honor the suspension of the other. In other words, I think that you will be at 'administratively' revoked in NY under NY law. If that is the case and CO and NY are members of the compact, CO will suspend your driver�s license based upon the NY DUI. If the states are not 'compact states', the NY court may not learn of the offense. However, if they learn of it at a later date it can still be relevent as a prior offense.
