Legal Question in DUI Law in Colorado

Duid

Our 19 year old son was pulled over for speeding - 22 miles over - and the cop smelled marijuana. He searched the car and found 2 pipes and brass knuckles. Our son admitted one of the pipes was his and so were the knuckles, which he was using as a belt buckle. This is his first driving offense. What is he looking at for fines, classes, etc. Happened in Chaffee county.

Re: Duid

was there a test to determine that he used MJ? Speeding is not associated with MJ driving nor DUI driving. Did son admit to smoking and if so when did he smoke.

A plea to DUI or DWAI will revoke his license for 1 year. Only a plea to UDD (baby dui) will prevent that (or non-dui type offense).

jail not likely, fines fees and costs will be around 850, classes will likely be for 6 months, probation with weekly urine testing etc
