Employment application
I was convicted of DWAI in Colorado in August 2001 and had my court date in October 2001. When filling out an employeement application asking ''Have you ever been convicted of a Felony or Misdemeanor'', do I have to answer ''Yes''? Please advise, and thank you.

Re: Employment application
Technically employers are not allowed to ask about anything but felony convictions. But, you find yourself in a catch 22 because if you raise a stink about them asking about misdemeanors when they shouldn't, it would probably raise a red flag in the employer's mind. In any case, honesty is generally the best policy, so if you want the job, you should probably just fess up.

Yes. You were convicted of a traffic misdemeanor.
