Minor In Consumption Larimer County Colorado
My 14 year old step-son chose to drink at school (during class) and blew a 0.01 2-3 hours after consuming alcohol. He was charged with minor in consumption. I have looked over the charges on the internet and I have come to the conclusion that for a petty offense they are serious about this in Larimer County. I am expecting for him to face court costs, possible fine, community service, and possible classes. I have explained to my step son that it is time to lose the skater hair for a more conservative hair cut, slacks, and button shirt. Since I have seen attorneys respond on this board are my expectations on target for this charge (1st offense). Also would someone like to add $0.02 about the importance of the hair cut and clothes for my wife?

Re: Minor In Consumption Larimer County Colorado
In Larimer County, your step-son, if he pleads guilty or is convicted, is likely to face the penalties you mention; Larimer offers neither diversion nor deferred sentences. There's no detention; it's a petty offense.
As for the importance of the hair cut and clothes for your wife, she can wear what she wants. Your son should appear in long pants and a tie, beyond the usual wardrobe. But instead of chopping his locks, cut him some slack on his own hair: it won't make a bit of difference to a judge, who anyway is expecting to see someone who looks like a 14-year-old, not a tired old man.
