First Offense
Parents live in Iowa, Daughter in Colorado. She received first offense ticket late Dec. 2002 in CO. First court date was 5-6-03. Two times prior dates were cancelled by court. DA said she should find a lawyer or public defender and not just plead guilty. July 3, 2003 is date to make plea. She has a health condition. How can we get her home and at same time get this resolved? So far they offered, 1 year probation, 10 days jail time, plus fines, community service. We need to get her home.

Lots can be done in this situation including pleas by mail or telephone. Please contact me at 720-406-6969 so that we can discuss further.
Re: First Offense
In which county did the offenses occcured will determine viability of out of state plea. Because of the large percentage of military stationed in Colorado Springs, El Paso and Teller County Courts are very receptive to non appearance of defenants with plea by mail.
Re: First Offense
How old is the defendant? Where is home; Colorado or Iowa? Who is we? Unforftunately, each jurisdiction can define policy for dui's in that jurisdiction. However, I have been able to negotiate favorable dispositions via mail for non-residents. The fact DA recommended something shows a willingness on the DA's part to negotiate in a semi-reasonable manner
