Legal Question in DUI Law in Colorado

Previous offenses

My ex-husband was recently arrested for DUI he agreeded to a blood test and was told he BAC was double the legal limit. This will be his third offense one in the 70's and on in 1986. He is disabled and on a limited income. What is he looking at. I believe one was reduced to a DWAI but not positive. He was cooperative with the Police Dept. The town he was arrested in small town america so you can understand what he has to deal with. It can go either way good or bad. Attorneys are former classmates or related in some way even public defenders are so over loaded that it seems that you don't get adequate representation. Please give advice on what to do. Thanks for all your help this is a great service.
