I am on probation for a DUI. I have completed all classes, community service, paid all fees, and they told me that I would be released from probation early if I completed everything. Now I am finding out they are keeping me on probation for the full two years (I have 9 more months left) at a fee of $50/month for the P.O. My P.O. said that the judge said I have to remain on probation for the full two years and when I asked for a copy of the order, my P.O. said they don't have one. I find this strange since there is a paper trail for everything else. I thought they pretty much did what the probation dept recommends?

Send a letter directly to the judge asking to end probation early since you have completed all conditions. Do not mention your concerns about probation, just that you have completed everything. The judge should respond to you when s/he decides. You can ask for a hearing. You might explain that the $450 fees would help you financially.
