Legal Question in DUI Law in Colorado

I recieved a deferred sentence for my DUI. My fines and fees totaled $548.50, I made payment arrangements with the Collections. I recieved in the mail yesterday from the Collections Office a Display of Financial Summary and there is an additional $100 added. The list includes Genetic Testing Su $2.50, Traumatic Brain In $20, Alcohol Evaluation $200, LEAF Assessment $90, Victim Compensation $33, Persistent Drunk D $100, Victim's Assistance $222, Rural Youth Alc/Su $5, Time Payment Fee $25 totalling $697.50. What are these fees and why am I paying them? I understand the Alcohol Eval and the Time Payment Fee.

You should thank your State legislators and the Governors for these surcharges. In order to pay for programs and to meet the budget gap your legislators use the law to assess these surcharges to raise money without raising taxes. Most people have no or less sympathy on people convicted of crimes to pay for those crimes in fines, fees, costs, and surcharges.

All the Best.
