Legal Question in DUI Law in Colorado

Reinstating license...

I received a DUI (first offense) in December of 2003, and went to court in July of 2004. I lost my license for a year (which means I could have gotten it back last December, I assume, since that is when my license was first revoked) due to my high BAC level, but am finally ready to get it back. Since I have not been driving for the past year-and-a-half, I have no insurance agent, as I have not needed auto insurance during that time. How do I go about getting SR-22 insurance, especially since I don't already have an active insurance policy with anybody? Is that all I need (the SR-22 insurance) to apply for a new license? And lastly, will I need to take a driving/written test?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Reinstating license...

You will need to get a new insurance policy with an SR-22 endorsement. If you were over .2, you will have to prove you took alcohol classes. You probably will have to take the tests.
