Re: skipped out on bail

A bond violation charge is possible, but it is not a felony. It is a misdemeanor with mandatory time.

Because this is your 4th DUI, if you are convicted of anything, then you will likely get jail in excess of 6 months, maybe a year or more. There may be defenses to your case, but need to see the facts.

I doubt that extradition will be requested out of state, but it could be. Meaning, likely if you are contacted by police out of state, there will not be a colorado warrant, but maybe.

I suggest you retain Colorado counsel to begin working on your case. You should also be prepared to make a $5000 bond - cash, surety, property. It could be much less, but unlikely that it will be more. If you turn yourself in, etc there is a decent chance of a bond reduction.

On misdemeanor cases, the court is not required to grant you credit for time served, so better to be out of custody waiting sentencing.

if you really want to help yourself, start alcohol treatment now. Do very well. Get records to prove it.
