Legal Question in DUI Law in Colorado

Suspension of a Minor's driver's license in Colorado

In Colorado, if you receive a deferred sentence for Minor in Possession of alcohol (as a non-driving passenger), will this deferred sentence also defer the suspension of the minor's driver's license (as long as there are no violations to revoke the deferred sentence during the 1 year time period)?

It should, but each court does it differently. Watch the mail for a letter from DMV just in case.

The deferred carries no driver's license penalty. An MIP conviction (which the deferred will revert to if its terms are violated) will result in a three month revocation, if it's a first conviction.

The criminal and DMV actions are separate matters.
