Elderly Rights
I have a 75 year grandmother that recently got ill and wasn't able to care for herself and was forced to live with my mother. At that time my mother wasn't working and was able to care for her all day long, but has had to find employment to take care of her and my grandmother's financial obligations. My grandmother owns her own home and owes $32000 that my uncle pulled out from the home some years back. She is paying back this money with her social security check and has no money left for medical costs. We have asked my uncle to refinance the home since he is on the loan so we can make the necessary repairs because the house is in pretty bad shape, but has refused? My father is getting upset because him and my mother fight a lot because my mom's brothers won't help her. We have also tried asking him to rent the home to relatives so she can keep her social security money for herself and necessary costs. We usually drop her off in the afternoon's or weekends so she can stay in her house and have alone time and later pick her up. My question is, how can I find an opportunity to make my uncle refinance the home so I can pull out money to fix her home and put some money in the bank to help pay some of her medical costs?

Re: Elderly Rights
Your Grandmother might be a canidate for a "Reverse" mortgage; or she can sell her home, after move to a senior residence or subsidized apartment in a a residence for mature people.
