Nursing Home requirements
Does a home have to be sold five years prior to going into a nursing home or can it be given to the children?

Re: Nursing Home requirements
If you are planning for Medicaid to pay the nursing home bills, do not sell your home or give it away until you have consulted with an experienced Elder Law attorney. The Medicaid penalties for transfers are severe; and selling the home may not be necessary.
