Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado
Adding little ''extras'' to support payment
Last month my husband added $50 to the child support payment. This was for some of the extracurricular activities. He is not required to do this by the support order and does not intend to make the addition on a monthly basis. His ex-wife was surprised when she got the check, BUT she wants any extra paid directly to her. We paid it through Family Support system to make sure it was recorded. Are we allowed to make extra payments this way/isn't it more advisable than giving her the money directly? She only receives child support - no alimony. Thanks.

Re: Adding little ''extras'' to support payment
Since he is not ordered to make such payments, putting it through the registry will likely be unnecessary; however, there is no problem with doing it that way and it can't hurt.
