Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

adoption issue/ termination of parental rights

I live in CA. My daughter lives in CO w/ her paternal grandparents. They recently notified me that the final hearing for her adoption was on Sept. 9; i knew nothing about any such proceedings, i wanted to eventually get her back with me. This is my question: for the adoption proceedings to be this far along, would my parental rights have to have been terminated? And if so, how did they do that without me knowledge? They have always known where i was and how to reach me at any point in time. If i go to that hearing, do i have any chance of stopping the adoption?

You should check with legal counsel in the State where the adoption is pending. From your question, I presume the adoption is pending in Oregon, not in California.

Good luck to you!
