Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado
in need of some advise
My ex wife is trying to put me in jail for not paying child support. My wife has been providing child care for my kids for 3 yrs, which the child care was part of the equation for the child support I am required to pay. Now that I went back to the courts to try to get the child support reduced. She is trying to throw me in jail because I havent been able to pay her. What are my options.

You will have to get some kind of repayment plan set up. That is unavoidable. However, you also need to file for a modification of child support right away. In order for the change in child care to be taken into account, you need to ask the court to modify the orders. The court cannot modify the child support retroactively, but it can save you from this point forward. An experienced family law attorney should be able to help you with this situation.
