Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

I don't want her back in my house

Hi,

On July 11 I asked my girlfriend to move out. Due to her medical issues I gave her until the end of the month to find a place of her own. On the 3rd. day of looking she takes an overdose of prescribed medication in an attempt to comment suicide.

She is still at the hospital going thru psychoanalysis. Before she gets out I would like to have her things ( household items, cats and car ) removed from my house. I've asked her 18 year old daughter and X brother in law ( who I now was informed is her X husband, another lie to add to the list !!!! ) for help. They are in no big hurry to remove her things. If they don't come and take her stuff, is there anything I can do?

I want her things gone before she gets released. I don't want her back in my house or life!!!!!!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Wyatt

If you own your home and the girl is not a co-owner with you, you can of course evict her from your house at any point. If you rent your house, you can also "evict" her. Keep in mind, however, that you will need to give sufficient notice, and you will need to take great care to protect her belongings to avoid any liability to you. I would suggest storing the belongings in a storage facility for safekeeping, and for her benefit, and providing notice to her right away that you intend to "evict" her. At this point, you should consult with a lawyer. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss this in further depth.
