Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

child custody

when i was 17 i had a child. my childs father wanted nothing to do with the child, as he was a teen then as well. i took full responsibility for the child and his needs.when my son was 15m old his father moved to colorado, he has since lived there, with no phone call or letters asking how the child is doing let alone child support.my sons father has a wife and kids with his wife. my question what are the odds of me getting full custody of my son? his father and i never lived together, were never married, and he has no contact with our son( by his choice).

Re: child custody

If you did not name the father on the birth certificate then you already have sole custody. If he was named, you are entitled to past and future child support, regardless of the custody issue. Because he has abandoned the child you will have no trouble getting sole custody. Call Utah Legal Services, then can help you at little or no cost.
