Child custody parenting with an unstable environment
I am having a problem with my childrens father being in a very unstable and mentally abusive situation and fear for the safety of my children. How can I prove this in court. My children are 17 and 6.

Competent courtroom-quality evidence is required in every legal proceeding to prove one's position. This is done through testimony and documentation, if any.
You and your 17 year old may be the only ones who can testify to the problems, and that will be difficult for your child.
