Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado
Child Support Ending
My son will be 19 in February of next year. He started college and is staying in the dorms during the week but coming home on the weekends and for breaks. Should I expect to still receive child support?

Re: Child Support Ending
Thank you for your legal question. My name is Hollie Hinton and I am an attorney at The Harris Law Firm, P.C.
Generally speaking, in Colorado, child support terminates when your child turns 19 years old. However, this can vary depending on the specific circumstances of your situation. You should refer to your separation agreement, other stipulations you and your former spouse entered into, or your permanent orders for clarification.
Please contact us if you have further questions. Our firm offers a 45-minute initial consult for $150, where we would be able to discuss the specifics and better assist you.
Thank you again for your question.
