Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

Child Support Owed After 16 Years of Withholding Child From Father?

Can I be sued for back child support if my daughter was born in Texas, now resides in Colorado, and I have never been allowed to see her according to the strict wishes of her mother? My name is not on the birth certificate and all family members have been coerced into not telling her of my existense. Can I sue her for doing this to me? My daughter needs to know me.

You can file paternity papers and ask that the Court find you to be the father of this child.

If the child has lived in Colorado more than 6 months, then you would have to do this in Colorado since Texas has lost jurisdiction over the child.

God luck!
