child's wishes

my 14 year old step-son has told us he wants to come live in California with his father and I but, his mother is threatening to not only, not allow this to happen without a court battle but, now she won't allow father and son to speak on the phone. she is threatening to move out of colorado and not give the new address where the kids will be. my husband has joint legal custody. what can we do?

You would have to file a motion for a change of custody. This motion would be filed in the court which made the current custody order. If neither party lives in the state in which the order was made then in the state in which the child currently lives.
