Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

Contempt??

My exhusband went to court for contempt for being in the arrears on child support since Dec. 2007. The child support in Orange County messed up the contempt paperwork and put in under my name. They made the correction and served him in court that day. When my ex was in front of the Judge he gave him a pre trial and set it out for 2 months even though child support was upset with him being so late on his child support. Mind you my ex own over 3 million dollars in property and owns his own hair salon business. So my question what is a pre trial?

Re: Contempt??

A pre-trial hearing is just like it sounds: it is a hearing to determine if the case should go to trial and when. If you are not receiving AFDC, you may be able to use a private collection attorney to assist you in collecting past due support.
