Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado
I have never dated a women in colorado, but had, had physical actions with her one week while I was in town. 2 months later now, I find out she is pregnant. I have came to the conclussion that in the best interest of the child, we should not go through with having the child. I have said I will pay for the abortion of the child, and she said she would take the money and get it done. 2 days later now, it seems as if she just wants the money, and not going to abort the child. I have this all in writing (text). I know I do not have the right to tell her to get an abortion, but what are my options. Am I required to pay child support? Do I have any say in any of this? What is my best plan, if I want the least amount to do with this situation? Thanks for any replies.

If she asks for child support from the court and it is your child, you will be ordered to pay child support - you have no control over this - legally you each have a duty of support to the child until the child turns 19 in Colorado. If you want the "last amount to do with the situation," the best advice is to pay your child support on time, as it does not go away and just gets worse the longer you go without paying, especially in Colorado where there is 12% interest compounded on past due child support. Hope this helps.
