No, contempt charges being dismissed does not mean the child support is terminated. You need to continue paying it off.

I would recommend that you find your records, your proof of payments made, and work with CS to make sure they have the correct balance due in their system.

If you stop paying, they will come after you again, and it is less likely that the charges will be dropped.

The only way out, assuming that your child is over 19 or emancipated, and therefore you do not owe any current child support, is to reach an agreement with your ex to settle for a fixed amount to pay off the arrearage. That agreement must be in writing and needs to be filed with the Court and with CS Enforcement. However, that won't work if you still owe more than just arrearages, as the Court is unlikely to find that circumstances are such that child support is no longer appropriate in your case.
