Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

Divorce and Property Division

Hi there. I have a legal question for you. My wife and I are preparing to divorce. We are both Colorado residents at this time but I own property in California which I purchased before our marriage and remains in my name only. I also receive a monthly annuity payment which has paid the mortgage since before we were married. My question is, what is my wife entitled to regarding this property, or perhaps I should ask, what are the courts likely to award her if we are unable to resolve it ourselves? I have offered her half of the increase in the appraised value of the property but she wants more. Any advice?

Thanks for your time.

Re: Divorce and Property Division

The court would not likely give her more than you have offered, assuming htere are no other property issues that would affect this issue.
