Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

Emancipation of minor child

I have a 17yr old child that has effectively broken up my marriage to her father within the last year. She is living with me and refuses to go to school and take responsibility for her actions. Someone else is always at fault. What are the requirements for emancipation and will I still be legally liable for her? She will turn 18 in November of 2001

Re: Emancipation of minor child

Emancipation is her choice--she can't be forced, although if you lock her out, Social Services might find a foster home for her. The criteria for emancipation are not very well defined--generally has to do with being out on one's own.
