Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado
My husband and I separated on December 19, 2010. We have been married for 2 1/2 years. We do not own a house and we have no children. Our only assets are our autos and we already have agreement about who has what car. We have divided our household goods and decided who will pay what credit card and loan debt. My husband lives in Colorado and I now live in Florida. We are hoping to put our marriage back together but divorce is a possibility. My questions are: Is there any reason that we need to draft a separation agreement?? How do I protect myself in the event that my husband would incur any additional debt during the course of this separation?

There are many reasons why you should have a separation agreement, not the least of which are the potential debts you mentioned.
