Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado
Income tax issue
When doing my own divorce, my ex stated that he wanted to claim our two girls for income tax. At the time I didn't really know better, and pretty much signed off on the divorce because he was not making it easy for me, and disagreed with everything I thought was fair. The girls live with me full time, and see him almost every other weekend and about 2 month of summer. I have tried to have him claim them one year and me the other, which he wants no part of. We have been divorced for 3 years. Is it too late for me to go back and ask the court to change this order? And is there a high expense and lengthy process involved?
Thank you!

Re: Income tax issue
The court might change the agreement if they find that it was unconsciounable--a very difficult standard to meet. You would probably need to hire an attorney to do this and it would take a few months.
