Quitclaim deed

Father passed away house in his name do i quitclaim deed to my name

No. You will need to file a simple (assuming this is the only significant asset in his estate) probate case with the Court. Assuming you are the only beneficiary, it should be a very quick and simple process. At the end of it, the Court will give you an Order that will permit you to legally change the deed to your name. You can get the forms from the Court. If you want some help, contact an attorney who does probate work.
