Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado
I am currently a residence of Colorado, relocating from Pennsylvania. For over ten years I have been living under the assumption that my so called ex-wife obtained our divorce.Recently she informs me that we are still married.I am on disability and can no longer work. I want a divorce but my wife says she will not sign the divorce papers out of spite. We have no property, no children under the age of 18.We are both in our sixties. What can I do? She is currently residing in New York.

If you have been living in Colorado for more than 90 days, you can petition for divorce here. You do not need your spouse to sign anything to get a divorce - the court will grant it with or without her cooperation/participation - in other words, she can slow down, but not stop the process. I hope this helps.
