Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado
step parents adoption process
Last summer we had an attorney help us get the consent form for my sons bio father to relinquish his rights. Our attorney did that part as a favor but we had to file on our own. The bio father lives in SC (which I didn't know) and his attorney is in CO. Do we have to have an attorney help us finish this or can we do it on our own. How do the courts view this? All the bio father and attorney want now is the final judgement. What should I expect now from the courts?

adoption is a complicated matter. I suggest you retain counsel.
