Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

Termination of Child Support

I was divorced in Colorado in 1985 paying $600.00 a month child support constantly. On my decree it states that support can stop due to entry in the military. My oldest daughter was accepted and reporting 06/30/98 to the Air Force Academy. How do I stop the support for that daughter and how much do I pay on the other? Both mine an my ex-wife income is around 3000.00 monthly. My ex-wife lives in Shreveport, LA and is moving to Georgia in June.

Child Support Modification

You will need to file a motion to modify support. Your new support payment will likely be based on a statutory formula, the main factor of which is your income & your ex-wife's income. Colorado should still have jurisdiction, so your ex-wife's moves will likely not be relevant.
