Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado
My wife and I are both filing for a mutual divorce and I was told that since it is mutual and we have no children and have already worked out the financial part and any property we have, all we need is to fill out the jdf 1000 and jdf 1101. Would this be a legal separation then and do we need to fill these papers out at the court where we would file it.

If you want to be divorced, you will file for dissolution of marriage rather than legal separation. The paperwork is the same. However, there are more than two documents you need to file to get this done. You need to each file financial disclosures, a joint petition, a separation agreement, and a proposed decree. You can find instructions on the court website.
