Firing an Employee after 18+ years

If you worked for an employee for 18+ years, and you have maternity leave coming, and severe complications arise from your delivery that leave you disabled, the county then fires you because you have become a burden to the county.

In addition to a possible FMLA claim, you may have an Americans with Disabilities Act claim. Whether you do depends on the effect the disability has on major life activities and on the length of time the disability is expected to last, among other things. You should consult with an attorney.
