Abandonment of goods

My husband left the house 4 months ago and has not came back to get his stuff.How long before i can sell it.Ive told him many times to get it.

It likely depends on whether your husband still has an ownership interest in your house, and whether you are still married.

If he has no interest, write him a letter, telling him you consider his stuff abandoned property, because it has been more than 30 days since you asked him to get it out of the house (if that's true). Tell him you're giving him another 30 days (and write the date) to pick it up, or you will sell or otherwise dispose of his junk. Send this letter by registered or certified mail, return receipt requested, signed by the addressee only. Keep a copy of that notice yourself, on file for at least a year.

If you sell the stuff, keep whatever money it brings in, also for a year, until he asks for it. If he never asks for it, it's yours. If he does, the money is his, minus reasonable costs you incurred (including your time) to hold the sale.
