Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Colorado
not appearing in court
If a person involved in a civit suit has serious concerns for their safety, can they get out of appearing in court? Can their lawyer represent them in court instead?

Re: not appearing in court
In California, your attorney can appear on your behalf at most court hearings. The hearings that you must appear at are settlement conferences, and the actual trial. If the lawsuit is in Colorado, I am not sure what the Court requires since I do not practice in that state. I hope this helps. You should talk to your lawyer about the Court hearings that are coming up and find out what you need to personally appear at. If you do not have an attorney, I would be happy to discuss the case with you and see if I could appear on your behalf if the lawsuit is in California.
