Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Colorado
Complaint turned to judgement
I will try to make this short. I was living with a roomate that signed a lease with the tennant. I was not on the lease at all. I wrote a check for first months rent and security deposit and the check bounced. I was in contact with a deputy sheriff for the amount owed. I paid the tenant the check amount on 12/8/04, but on 10/5/04 the tenant filed a ''complaint'' for the amount. These were two different case #'s and now I still have a ''judgement'' showing this complaint for rent. How do I clear up with the court the fact that I already paid the amount owed and am not even on the lease?

Re: Complaint turned to judgement
A complaint doesn't generate a judgment; a judge does.
Simply call the clerk of the court and ask your question.
