Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Colorado

Contract

I signed a contract with my grandfather a.k.a the Devil because he lent me money for my car about 3 years ago. The contract does not state there is a minimum payment and it does not state what will happen if i do no pay the money back. Since then he has insulted my mother and caused emotional strain on me. How can i get out of this contract? My father, his son has posession of the car title.

Re: Contract

If you were a minor (under 18) at the time you made your deal with the Devil, and not too much time has passed by, you may void the contract because a minor is not considered competent to form a contract with the Devil or anyone else. An exception to that would possibly be if you couldn't get to work or school any other way and the car was considered necessary for your survival.

Generally, if you void a contract, you have to give what's left of the thing you got back. But if your father is the true owner of the car, your grandfather is out of luck with respect to his deal with you.

Bottom line: tell the Devil to go to hell. I suspect he really won't mind.
