Hello,

Perjury is when you lie under oath, such as in a court of law or on a legal document when you have been put on notice that you are swearing or affirming that the information is correct. Perjury can either be a felony or misdemeanor, depending on the circumstances.

Also, filing a false report is proscribed by law, and it is a misdemeanor. It is when a person knowingly causes a police report when the person knew the information was false.
