Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Colorado

loan

I loaned my ''future'' daughter in law $15000 for school at an interest rate of 6 %. My son and she have now broken up. I have no promissory note, though she had agreed to sign one. Now what do I do to get the money back?

Re: loan

You can sue her, though without a promissory note it may be hard to distinguish your loan from a gift.

Alternatively, you can marry the girl yourself.

Good luck.
