Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Colorado

Slander question

If I had a company that took stories submitted by individuals that paid me to bring their stories to cartoon form, using actual names they provided of real people and gave them back a short film to use however they deemed fit...(ie.youtube etc) would I be held liable as far as a slander case? I would have no say after they receive the film in how they use it..I just brought their story to life.

Re: Slander question

Actually, this is a libel question, as you published the thing for view by third parties. And reckless disregard for the truth is a key element of either slander or libel. You didn't just bring their story to life -- you brought their lies (if such they are) to life, and may be held equally liable for your action as theirs.
