Small claims court

I would like to file a case in small claims court. I live in Colorado and the defendant in Maine.. In which state must I file the claim?

It depends upon where the transaction took place. If the defendant was in CO and the transaction took place there you may sue him there.

If the defendant was always in ME, then you must sue him there.
